Poetry In Motion Catering was founded in 1999 by Karen Major in Watsonville, California. What began as a personal pursuit rooted in hospitality and creativity has grown into one of Santa Cruz County’s most trusted catering companies.
For more than 26 years, Karen’s hands on leadership, warmth, and dedication have shaped every aspect of the business. Her belief that food should tell a story, service should feel effortless, and every guest should feel genuinely cared for continues to guide the team today.

With over 15 years at Poetry In Motion Catering, Peter has grown alongside the company and become a cornerstone of the team. Hired by founder Karen Major, he began at the ground level and gained experience across every facet of the operation.
Today, Peter is known for his passion for cooking and his collaborative approach with clients. He takes pride in designing thoughtful, personalized menus and ensuring each event reflects the client’s vision and is executed with care, consistency, and attention to detail.
